Linux Design

The basic structure of Linux is similar to any UNIX based operating system. It basically, has a modular structure and it draws its basic design from the principles founded by UNIX in 70’s and 80’s. The Linux kernel is, basically, a monolithic kernel which handles every aspect of the system. Device drivers are integrated with the kernel only or added later as modules.
